  It is what it sets out to be...a local pub. Yes there are locals, yes the owner is behind the bar and his wonderful wife runs the attached "lounge" with wonderful meals that can also be served in the pub. I found the "locals" wonderful, nice and friendly. The Blackbird and the owners are charming and I would return there for a drink and a meal!!

  Sat at the entrance to a lovely little camp site, and situated beside the fairly busy A926, this pub/restaurant should be a haven for travellers and campers looking for a quiet drink/meal at excellent convenience - but it really isnt.
  
  We stopped in the camp site for four nights and popped into the Blackbird twice, hoping for a better experience the second time. Sadly I think we saw everything the pub had to offer and that was one or two regulars propping the bar up and the owner sat behind the bar falling asleep.
  
  The TV was on (and loud) so the regular could watch a movie, therefore the music was turned off and any chance of the place having charm vaporised.
  
  The lighting is too bright while the deco was clearly in place back in the 70s. The choice of drinks is limited to one brand per type of drink; so you can only buy Tenants larger for example.
  
  The sad thing is, I really wanted to like the Blackbird, and could see how big its potential could be. Oh well...
